PROFILE
17 Years Experience | $200m+ in Sales Volume
Michelle Rampelt brings creative solutions, vast market knowledge, and proven negotiating power to help you buy and sell in the Rocky Mountains. As a top producer, Michelle offers 17 years of expertise in both Vail Valley and Crested Butte, coupled with an extensive background in marketing and sales. But it’s her results-driven approach and passion for the personal side of real estate that make her one of the most sought-after agents in the region.
Among her achievements are the successful development sales at two of Vail’s premier luxury condominium projects, The Lion and The Landmark where Michelle was a principal member of both sales teams. She is currently the lead listing agent on one of Mt. Crested Butte's newest developments, Upper Prospect.
As a longtime Colorado resident, Michelle has a deep understanding of the neighborhoods and Homeowner’s Associations. In fact, she previously ran nine herself, sat on the Vail Board of Realtors for two years, and served as a Director on the Vail MLS Board for six years, only adding to her wealth of local knowledge and the nuances of central topics in real estate. Michelle currently serves on the Legislative Policy Committee, the LPC Land Use Subcommittee, and the Audit Committee for the Colorado Association of Realtors.
When she is not showing homes, Michelle lives and breathes the Colorado lifestyle, splitting her time between the ski towns of Vail and Crested Butte. For leisure, she is often hiking, biking, and enjoying unprecedented access to world-class skiing. She also believes in giving back, from community clean-up to a memorable two weeks in Africa on a medical service trip.
If you are looking for a trusted real estate professional who will guide you to the ideal mountain community or sell your current home, contact Michelle. Nothing pleases her more than exceeding expectations.
“ I bring a sincerity to the experience in which my clients’ values are prioritized,” says Michelle. “ I set action plans and deliver on intentions, whether it be for my buyers or sellers. I live and love the mountain lifestyle and enjoy sharing that with my clients, while striving to make every aspect of the experience fun.”
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I sang back-up for Barry Manilow in high school.
I have ridden/skied every chairlift in Vail, in one day.
I was working at my office in downtown Washington DC during the events of 9/11, and 2 weeks later I moved to Colorado to be a ski bum.
I am trained as a Sommelier 1, which has a pass rate of 90%, and qualifies me to enjoy wine at restaurants with 100% of people.
I hail from Cleveland, Ohio, where I learned to ski on a pile of trash (a grown-over landfill with a vertical drop of 240 feet).
My significant other co-founded Matchstick Productions (most famous for ski film-making) in Crested Butte, Colorado in 1993 where I am still learning how to ski (for real).
I was a never-ever surfer in Bali at 41 years old, riding my first wave in an area famous for Balangan’s left-hander, wearing reef booties and a turquoise surf-school rash guard. All experienced snow riders should be forced to try a new action-sport and look totally uncool doing it.
I grew up in a blended family with step siblings, and now live as a blended family; I have had 3 pets in my lifetime, all from the pound. The most recent was a foster fail that chases us on mountain bikes, and skis. In the winter she wears a puffy coat and goggles to rip Snodgrass and Meadow Mountain(s).
I have a degree in Journalism/Public Relations from the University of Maryland, College Park. I peaked at 15 having been published in a regional paper, later writing a controversial piece about sorority life my second year of university.
I made a career choice in the summer of 1998 that would shape my future forever: Jello Shot girl at The Waterfront Restaurant in Dewey Beach, Delaware.
In 2007 I went to the Tour de France with my dad and watched the Peloton climb the Col D’Aspin on Bastille Day. Having spent some time in Europe, I can speak enough French and Italian to eat, drink, and locate the facilities.
I once got 4th place in a Downhill Mountain bike race in Snowmass.
I recently traveled to Japan to meet a client who lives on Hokkaido, and found that the skiing in Niseko meets the hype. So do the shops in Tokyo.
The most important and fascinating work I’ve ever done was on the Kenyan Mara serving the Maasai community on a medical convoy. The most important work I now do is facilitating others in meditation practices designed to regulate emotion, calm the nervous system, and lead a fulfilled life. Giving love and compassion remains the best kind of work.
